Mack Prioleau awaited his bride as he gazed over the sweeping mountain views atop Vail Mountain. Lauren Bailey walked toward her groom on this peak to share a special and intimate first look moment. After six years of dating they were finally about to come husband and wife. To conclude the ceremony, the guests lined up outside the chapel and tossed rose petals on the newlyweds - a true Cinderella moment! Bare Root Flora adorned the reception space and a six tiered cake symbolized the six years they had been together. Instead of a groom’s cake, Mack opted for an ice sculpture espresso martini bar - the perfect night cap to wrap up a stunning evening.

Our dream was to have a snowy, winter wedding in Colorado, yet we knew an outdoor wedding ceremony in December could be difficult to coordinate. After a year of planning with the most incredible team (who we now consider our lifelong friends), we were blessed with the most beautiful, snowy backdrop at the base of Vail Mountain. Thinking back on that moment brings back all the best emotions of the day.

Knowing that it would likely turn out to be a huge event with hundreds of guests, however, the couple began their search elsewhere. It didn’t take long before deciding on a destination wedding in the Rocky Mountains.

Like every industry, local wedding planners have had to adjust to COVID-19 times. Like many other industries, too, they are pulling together. With constant updates to public health orders including gathering size limits, different guidelines at each and every venue as well as other industry challenges, six local wedding planners started up an informal group text, sharing frustrations, tips and alerts — as well as how to move forward.

We went for what I thought was a birthday trip for Herbie to Manhattan, where I had lived for about 6 years. Herbie had little surprises for me throughout our trip, like 2nd-row tickets to a broadway show I wanted to see.

As lovers of the outdoors, Elizabeth Byrd and Max Macmaster chose to wed at Saddleridge at Beaver Creek in Colorado. “We wanted to plan as much of the weekend as possible outside and incorporate what Colorado is famous for in the summer,” Elizabeth says.
